Self-described as "a futuristic punk band from post-war Texas", Austin's Expander represent a dystopian future where technology has run amok, and where punk's DIY ethos is fused with noise rock skronk and driving thrash tempos.

I spoke with drummer Keymaster and vocalist General Ham about Expander's history (future?...time travel is confusing), and the influences behind to their uniquely abrasive sound. We also discussed the writing and recording of their sophomore album Neuropunk Boostergang, and how an online contest led to their relationship with Kurt Ballou.

My thanks to Keymaster and General for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
