Representing the current incarnation of the Bay Area metal scene, Necrot keep things crusty and old school. As the band describe it, their approach is "almost like Motörhead/Black Sabbath... translated into down-tuned death metal."

I spoke with vocalist/bassist Luca Indrio and drummer Chad Gailey about what makes Necrot different from the other bands they're a part of, and the circumstances that led to their sophomore album Mortal coming together so quickly. We also discussed the history of death metal in the Bay Area and its recent resurgence.

My thanks to Luca and Chad for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
