Emerging from Bergen in the early Nineties, Örth was part of a wave of Norwegian bands who trafficked in speed, blasphemy, and zero fucks. Resurrected and rechristened Arvas at the turn of the millennium, the project took on elements of death metal and Eighties thrash.
I spoke to founder and multi-instrumentalist V-Rex about the band's history and their latest album Equanimity. We also discussed the long delayed release of Örth's Nocturno Inferno album, which was recorded in the Nineties but didn't see the light of day til 2017.
My thanks to V-Rex for taking the time to speak with me, and to you for listening.
