Mixtape 51 - Reyerta

Here is the 51st installment of the Dreams of Consciousness podcast, featuring an interview with Singapore-based power violence group Reyerta.

I interviewed the band at the end of March, when they headlined a show at Rumah Api. I didn't know much about them, but their story fascinated me - two people from Spain and two from the Philippines who somehow all met in Singapore and decided to play power violence.

We discussed how they came together, the quick manner their two recordings were written and recorded, and the band's preference for singing in their native tongues. We also discussed the band's future and plans for touring. It was a fun, somewhat rambling interview - enabled, no doubt, by the number of beers opened throughout our conversation (which you can periodically hear on the recording).

My thanks again to the members of Reyerta for talking to me, and to you for listening.
