4 years and 200 episodes since they were last featured on this podcast, Vastum are back with a new album of dark, cavernous, old school death metal.
I spoke with vocalist Daniel Butler about how philosopher Georges Bataille influences Vastum's lyrical themes, and why the band chose to explore eroticism through death metal. We also discussed Daniel's aggressive performance style, and how their latest album Inward To Gethsemane is a progression from their earlier albums.
My thanks to Daniel for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
