With a history that includes time spent in a music conservatory, Oxx isn't your typical chaotic hardcore/metal group. Comparisons to the likes of Dillinger Escape Plan and Meshuggah don't do justice to the Danish trio's meticulous songwriting process.
I spoke with guitarist/vocalist Alex Bossen about how Oxx grew out of an instrumental group, and the importance of creating music with an authentic voice. We also discussed the extensive brainstorming process that led to The Primordial Blues, and why this album came together differently from previous albums.
My thanks again to Alex for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
