Over the course of two albums and several EPs, VoidCeremony have created their own brand of technical and progressive death metal - one that sees the band pushing themselves as songwriters and musicians, but doesn't forsake the simple pleasures of fast, brutal music.
I spoke with founder/guitarist/vocalist Garrett Johnson about how video game soundtracks influence VoidCeremony's songs, and the reason behind VoidCeremony's amorphous line-up. We also talked how Gabriele Garmaglia from Cosmic Putrefaction got involved as both a producer and collaborator for the band's latest album Threads Of Unknowing, and what to expect from the next VoidCeremony album.
