Hierophant have experienced a stylistic rebirth, and appear to be an all-new band as a result. Following an extensive line-up shuffle, the Italian band has allowed the chaotic death/black influences threaded through their earlier albums to subsume their sound and dictate their current direction.
I spoke with guitarist Fabio Carretti about Hierophant's recent transformation, and how he became a part of this new incarnation of the band. We also discussed how the band developed songs over Zoom during Covid lockdowns, and why they decided to wait a year to release their latest album, Death Siege.
My thanks to Fabio for speaking with me, and to all of you for listening.
