Polish grind quartet Herida Profunda aren't against looking outside the genre for inspiration, but keep things simple and to the point all the same. The band's crusty punk roots are evident from their short, hooky songs, as well as the socio-political commentary they contain.
Continuing DoC's "Grindtember", I spoke with Herida Profunda vocalist Piotr "Edi" Kwiatek about why his living in the UK hasn't affected the band's productivity, and how political developments in Poland inspire his lyrics. We also talked about Polish punk legend Dominika "Nika" Domczyk's guest appearance on their latest album, Power to the People, as well how the band decided on the album's unique cover art.
My thanks to Edi for speaking with me, and to all of you for listening.
