Described as a "collective", Dawnwalker is the brainchild of London-based multi-instrumentalist Mark Norgate. The project draws from a wide assortment of influences, including prog, black metal, and post rock, with a varied group of contributors to match its eclectic sound.
I spoke with Mark about how Dawnwalker expanded from a bedroom solo project to a collective, and how he writes parts for non-traditional instruments. We also discussed the concept and narrative that frames their latest album, House of Sand, and why Dawnwalker probably won't be coming to a town near you anytime soon.
My thanks to Mark for speaking with me, and to you for listening.
