Hudson Valley NY's Hush demonstrate that there's still room for innovation in the realms of sludge metal and atmospheric doom. With their bass-centric sound, theirs is a particularly rumbly and cinematic take on slow, heavy music.

I spoke with vocalist Charles Cure about why Hush has two bassists, and the way their sound evolved to be more cinematic. We also discussed how a bad car accident served as a backdrop to the latest Hush album, The Pornography Of Ruin, and the inspiration behind the songs' cryptic titles.

My thanks to Charles for speaking with me, and to all of you for listening.
