The brainchild of robotics/mechanical engineer Tristan Shone, Author & Punisher reimagines industrial doom metal, using custom-built instruments to create a signature style of ominous, oppressive music.

I spoke with Tristan Shone about the instruments he created for the project, and his definition of "doom". We also discussed the collaborators who helped him assemble his latest album KRÜLLER, as well as the process of capturing Author & Punisher's unique sonic output for mass consumption.
