Mixtape 53 - Protomartyr

Here is the 53rd installment of the Dreams of Consciousness podcast, featuring an interview with Joe Casey of Detroit-based post-punk band Protomartyr.

I'm not going to lie, I dropped the ball on this one. My buddy Stephen told me about Protomartyr and their show at Live Fact in KL weeks before we were set to go there; but due to work and other commitments, I wasn't able to do much in the way of research. Luckily, Stephen joined us for the interview, and jumped in with his own questions - otherwise, this could very well have been a 5 minute long podcast.

We discussed the history of Protomartyr, their songwriting process, and the origins behind some of their songs. We also discussed how the band's collaboration with Kelley Deal of the Breeders came about.

My thanks to Joe for talking to us, to Stephen for keeping the conversation going, and to you for listening.
