Mixtape 45 - Third Culture Kings

Here is the 45th installment of the Dreams of Consciousness podcast, featuring an interview with Jan Johansen and Alap Momin of Third Culture Kids.

A little while ago I ran into my buddy Alak (from Pusher and Tandang Store) on the train coming back from work. He told me that Third Culture Kings were booked to play Tandang over the Chinese New Year holiday. I reached out to the band about doing an interview, and they were enthusiastic about the idea [more than this little blog and its meager reach deserves, frankly]. We discussed the origins of their name and the concept of "third culture kids", as well as the roots of the project and the process of creating their first album Is That Light You Carry?

We also talked about the genesis of the amazing black metal-themed video for their song "Sunshine for Sadie":

The conversation, much like 3CK's music, touched on everything from Pink Floyd to Diplo. This might have been the most fun and energetic podcast interview I've ever done. My thanks to Jan and Alap for talking to me, and to you for listening.
