Hurricane Irene is finishing up its NYC visit, and Le Poisson Rouge put together a playlist in tribute. I thought it was a good gag, and considering that I was kind of excited by the apocalyptic possibilities (and let down by the lack of same), I thought I'd join in the fun.
Of course, any mixtape would be remiss if it didn't start off with a fast driving thrash song, so Megadeth's Tornado of Souls would be a good place to start. "In the eye of the tornado....BLOW! ME! A!WAY!"
Naglfar - When Autumn Storms Come
October Tide - 12 Days of Rain
Gwynbleidd - StormCalling
Thyrfing - Becoming the Eye
Jesu (with Jarboe) Storm Comin On
Glissando - Floods
Neurosis - Eye of Every Storm
Mors Principium Est - Cleansing Rain
Judas Priest - Between the Hammer and the Anvil
Of course, I could have ended with the most obvious choice, but this drizzle hardly warrants it. Seriously, I've been in moshpits more severe than this storm.
